April Showers

April Showers

April Showers

As the old proverb goes, March winds and April showers bring forth May flowers. Well here we are April 1st, and it is snowing in New Hampshire. But as the month progresses,  the sunshine and April showers will melt the snow away and the sight of the first flowering bulbs will soon be emerging like a jewel!

This month, the month of April showers, we have chosen the color blue as the color of the month.  The color blue is the favored color of most people. It creates a sense of peace and serenity, spirituality and infinity. Did you know that more than half of the flags in the world contain the color blue?  It is the most commonly used color for corporate identity, and of course we cannot forget and blue jeans, they are worn all over the world.

There isn’t a better room to choose to highlight this month than the bathroom, showers to be exact. (A little play on words.) We have provided below, bathroom showers showcasing blue tiles. Which one is your favorite?

Blue Shower #1

The blue tiles in this master bathroom shower encompases the whole shower. The subway tiles installed on the walls are in a brick laying pattern. and the square tiles installed on the ceiling are  installed in a diamond pattern. This lovely shower area is soft and inviting.

Designer Beatriz from Byrd Design was the project manager for this 1930 Spanish Revival bathroom (below). The layout of the bathroom was reconfigured to improve circulation and adapt the space to a modern lifestyle while keeping the aesthetics true to its Spanish architectural roots. This white and blue bathroom features blue Moroccan tiles, lined with a white lacquered washstand adorned with aged brass knobs topped with thick white quartz and paired with an aged brass faucet placed under a white Mansard mirror. A glass and brass shower is filled with the same blue Moroccan tiles throughout the rest of the bathroom.
